Fall is officially here, and you know what that means? It means it’s time for all things fall, like pumpkin spice lattes, trick or treating, trips to your local pumpkin patch, and fall decorations! In our latest blog, we give you tips for decorating your San Diego apartment this fall. Read along to discover how you can spruce up your apartment to make it more festive.
Fall Wreaths
First things first, when decorating your apartment, you have to start with the first thing people see, the front door! A great way to immediately spice up your home is by decorating your front door with a fall-ready wreath. There are a ton of great fall-theme wreaths out there. We personally love wreaths that have a combination of floral bushes and pumpkins. While you can easily buy a fall-themed wreath at your local home goods store, creating your very own personalized wreath is a great way to turn up your decoration this year.
Decorative Candles
Decorative candles are a great item to implement into your space. They not only make for a great decorative piece but also help make your space feel extra cozy with their wonderful scent and warm hue. We recommend a pumpkin spice candle for the love of all things pumpkin and spices. But if that’s not really your speed, anything smoky or woody works well too. Think of a warm campfire on a cool fall evening. There’s nothing that is more fall than that. There are many candle options to choose from. You can find ones that are plain with no casing or ones that come in a case. We recommend going with the plain ones as they’re usually cheaper and then buying a reusable candle holder to go with it. Most major candle companies make season-appropriate candle holders, so make sure to check those out.
Tip* If you’re looking for something a little different, Etsy has some neat candles set with dried flowers, orange wheels, cinnamon sticks, and other fall-y items.
Dried Foliage
Speaking of dried goods and fall items, there are many ways to create a more fall-themed apartment. A great way to do this is by incorporating dried leaves or branches. Dried goods give off all the autumnal vibes. A nifty way to use dried-up leaves is by making a gallery wall out of them. We love this as it’s a quick, simple, and economical way to personalize your decoration further. Another creative way to implement dried goods is bundling up dried-up branches and displaying them in pretty vases throughout your home.
Change Your Color Scheme
The quickest and fastest to immediately turn your home into a more fall-appropriate home is by bringing out all the warm and fall colored items. Change your color scheme by incorporating more neutrals, shades of orange, flannel patterns, and more. Do this by swapping out your couch pillows, throw blankets, or decorations to ones that have a more fall-colored palate. Switching up the color in your home is easy to create a sense of warmth and comfort.
